Debating
Written by Mrs A Anderson
Sorry, but due to the bad weather and difficult travelling conditions, along with the lack of Balmedie pupils in school today, it has been decided to cancel debating today 1 Feb 2010. Meet after school next Monday. Remember the proposition is "The UK should withdraw its troops from Afghanistan with immediate effect". Work on your arguments for the full debate next week.

Debating Society
Written by Mrs A Anderson

Many pupils at Bridge of Don Academy would welcome a forum to discuss issues which are of importance to them. They are engaging with issues which are local, national and international in the areas of politics, religion, philosophy and morality and would like to learn how to argue in a formal debating situation. Because of the level of interest expressed, a Debating Society has been started. We will meet once a week on a Monday after school from 3.45 to 4.45 pm in F12.

As a result of the timing, pupils will be expected to take responsibility for their own transport arrangements at the end of the meeting.

For the rest of this session we will be concentrating on developing our debating skills within school. If there is sufficient interest and level of comittment, we will consider the possibility of entering local competitions next session.

If you would like any further information, please contact Mrs Anderson (RMPS) or click on the link below.
